About us
I founded Equidemia because horsemanship without science lacks direction — and science without empathy lacks meaning.
Our goal: understanding horses, not merely training them.
Celina Skogan
As CEO and lead educator, Celina heads Equidemia and speaks internationally on ethics, empathy, and evidence-based horse training. For over 25 years, she has been bridging academic horsemanship with modern equine science.
For many years, I trained horses up to Haute École level and devoted my life to the art of riding — always with the aim of promoting and preserving health. Early on, I understood one essential truth: we must meet the horse’s needs before pursuing our own ambitions in the arena.
I have been an apprentice, a boarder, and a stable owner — always searching for a deeper understanding. And every time I thought, “Now I’ve figured it out,” life presented a new chapter.
So I kept searching: studying, observing, and exploring — manual therapies, osteopathy, craniosacral work, fascial therapy, nutrition, horsemanship, training theory, gait analysis, physiology — all in pursuit of one central question: Can horse training be fair, healthy, and meaningful at the same time?
I believe the answer is yes. I firmly believe that horse training can be ethical.
Especially over the past 15 years, science has taught us so much about the extraordinary nature of horses. Now is the moment to question long-held myths and move, with evidence as our guide, toward an ethical and empathetic future in horse training. Because when we know better, we can do better.

Today, Equidemia is a place where
evidence & empathy
come together. Where science does not remain theory, but transforms everyday practice. Where knowledge carries responsibility — and care becomes visible.
Together, we are rethinking horse training: evidence-based, solution-oriented, and pragmatic.
